Travelling across   North America is easy and exciting if you take the Greyhound bus. The bus line was founded in Minnesota in 1914 and in 1929 it became the Greyhound Corporation. Today, it is the largest intercity bus company in the United States that reaches over three thousand destinations daily. There are bus routes leaving Minneapolis, and they cross downward to the Midwest states like Wisconsin and Indiana. In the East Coast, many buses travel from New York and Washington D.C. to Toronto and Montreal. There is nothing as pleasant as sitting inside the bus with your MP3 and a sweeping view of the open country beyond.

Bus Trailways

There is a  Greyhound bus schedule that shows what states could be visited from the East Coast. From New York, a person can travel across the border to Canada.   If you plan to go and visit Montreal from New York City, you have two options. Montreal could be reached by the Amtrak train and by Greyhound bus. If you choose a train ride, it will take eleven hours. If you travel by Greyhound bus, the trip will only take nine hours.  As you sit there enjoying the sound of your favorite singing group, you can observe the panoramic view of snow capped mountains and wide stretches of open fields. Most likely, the bus will pass by Saratoga Springs, Beautiful Bear Mountain and Hyde Park. Scenic Hudson River will as well come into view as you cross the rugged countryside. This bus ride will cost eighty four dollars.

If you plan to visit Washington D.C. from Montreal, there is also a Greyhound bus schedule for that route. Experience more snow-capped mountains, including miles and miles of stately pine trees as you ride to Washington D.C. As soon as you get off the bus, do not forget to visit the National Mall at the heart of Washington D.C.  The Grant Memorial, the Smithsonian, Washington Monument, Hirshhorn Museum, Lincoln Memorial, National Museum of Natural History and the Constitution Gardens are all located within National Mall. From Washington D.C., you can take another Greyhound bus ride back to New York. It will only cost fifteen dollars.

Carousel Buses

When you are back in New York, you can go and check-out the Greyhound bus schedule. There are trips that go to Boston, Baltimore and Philadelphia. Do not forget to keep the music in your head.  Try it out and have some fun.
